The Government of Canada offers several scholarship programs to support candidates from abroad who wish to study or conduct research in Canada for 4-8 months. 

The University of Alberta is currently accepting applications from eligible student candidates for these competitions.

The following two programs are now open and follow the same timelines with an internal UAlberta application deadline of March 15.

Emerging Leaders of the Americas (ELAP)

For undergraduate and graduate students from the Caribbean and South America

For undergraduate and graduate students from Algeria, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, and Ukraine.
